Anticipation: Fender Modern Player Jaguar on the way

I didn't get one back in the day, and now they seem to be going up in value. I was glad to score one for $299 ($347 shipped).  Anticipations:

  • I hope it doesn't weigh a ton
  • I hope the pickups sound better than other MP P90's I've played
  • I hope the "Great" description is accurate and that it is not scratched up
  • I hope I can set it up to play as good or better than the LTD EC 256P and then the superior contours of the Fender will make it the winner in that head to head
  • I hope it looks even cooler in person
  • They put "chocolate burst" on it but maybe it's really the mahogany (straight brown) one

I'm buying this to satisfy my curiosity about whether the Fender contours will make it a better guitar for me that the LTD EC256P.
So, this guitar is a mixed bag. It looks really cool in person, but it is heavy and the stock knobs had been replace with Stratocaster knobs.  It is also hard to set up - the TOM bridge by Fender isn't the easiest to adjust.  It also seems to buzz a little b/c of high frets possibly.

The guitar looks cool enough to help me forget about the Schecter Avenger Custom.  It also sounds pretty good - not quite as good as the ESP LTD 256P or the Gretsch with Dearmond 2000's, but pretty good nonetheless.
